Mexican fiesta nuts
Combining the sweet with the savory in true Mexican style, these Mexican appetizers will thrill your guests. Mexican fiesta nuts are coated in butter, cinnamon, chipotle and more for a combination of flavors that contrast wonderfully. Pecans are a great nut to use but you could try walnuts or brazil nuts for a different flavor if you wanted to, or combine several different types of nuts.
In this Mexican appetizer recipe, the pecans are coated in chocolate, which is flavored with the other ingredients, and the chipotle adds a fiery zing to an otherwise sweet recipe. This is a very unusual appetizer recipe and you can serve this in a bowl if you are having a buffet or in small, individual dishes if you are serving appetizers before a sit down dinner. You could also serve these Mexican fiesta nuts after the meal with the coffee.

Mexican Fiesta Ingredients 

  1. 1 cup shelled pecans
  2. 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons butter
  4. ½ cup milk chocolate chips, melted
  5. ¼ teaspoon ground chipotle pepper

Mexican Fiesta Preparation

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet and stir in the chipotle pepper and cinnamon sugar.
  2. Add the pecans, tossing them well to coat in the butter mixture.
  3. Cook them for a couple of minutes, then transfer them to a parchment paper-lined baking tray and leave them to cool.
  4. Dip each pecan halfway into the melted chocolate chips and let them set.
