Basic Vegetarian Pizza Dough Recipe
Vegetarian Pizza Dough Recipe Ingredients
The ingredients you will need for the pizza dough are- 3 cups of plain flour
- 1 sachet of dried yeast
- 1½ teaspoons of salt
- 1¼ cups of water
- and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Some people say the water needs to be warm but I use water straight from the
tap and it works fine.
Vegetarian Pizza Dough Recipe Preparation
- First of all, mix the dry ingredients together
- add the water and olive oil
- and mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
- Then knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 3 minutes.
- The dough will be sticky at this stage.
- Resist adding more flour as this will make the dough heavy and tough.
- Spray a large bowl with oil and roll the dough in it so it is cover in oil.
- Then cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave to sit on the bench for 1 hour, in which time it should double in size.
- Knead the dough for another 20 seconds so that it reduces to its original size.
- Cut it in half so that you can make two pizzas
- and roll out each piece and place it onto your pizza tray.
- Lastly, add all of your toppings onto your pizza dough – you may stick to strictly vegetables, or you can add whatever you like.
- Leave the dough to rise for another 20 minutes before putting it onto the top shelf of an oven preheated to 230°C.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is brown underneath and on the sides, and there you have it – tasty pizza for the whole family to enjoy.
